I learned about a new plane of existence and interviewed a superstructure. On this plane, there were four types of entities. They lived in small cells in layers upon layers in each direction.
The Sixteens linked together to form barriers and to keep the structure from collapsing in on itself. The Sixteens had sixteen ports on each of their four sides to send and receive information. Each port represented a certain concept and each side represented a certain direction: up, down, left and right.
The Fours linked and supported the sixteens vertically. The Fours had four ports on each of their four sides to send and receive information. Each port represented a certain direction: up, down, left and right and each side represented a certain direction: up, down, left and right.
The Masses looked like one entity but were actually two separate entities that worked in unison. The Up Masses had three sets of sixteen ports, one along the top and two along the sides. These ports collect, process and send information to/from the Sixteens. Each port could only send and receive information from one corresponding port from the Sixteens. The Up Masses only had two ports on the front and two ports on the back. These ports can send and receive information from any of the Fours, they were not restricted to a certain port.
The Down Masses worked in the same way as the Up Masses, just upside-down.
The membrane that separated the Up and Down Masses was part of the Fours. This membrane connected the Fours horizontally and prevented the Up and Down Masses from melding together.
The Masses took information from the Sixteens and passed them from one port to another. Sometimes, the information from the Sixteens crossed paths with information from the Fours. This changed the direction of the information and was rerouted. Each Mass can handle up to eight pieces of information at the same time. If more than eight pieces of information enter a Mass, then the oldest piece of information is ejected to one of the Fours, whichever is closer.
If one of the Masses dies, the structure will shift to fill that empty space. It will shift from right to left, down to up. Any information within a Mass during the shift will not move in the shift. It will remain in its place and will be processed as normal once the shift is complete.
