The End Through the Desert

I dreamt.

I was walking along a highway in the desert. The sun was setting in the distance and it was spring so the sun wasn’t too intense. Ahead of me were steep hills. The end of the world was happening and every major city and town was obliterated. There were still a lot of people in the world, they were just scattered. People would drive by me now and again. They never stopped or paid attention to me but they would throw half-eaten fast food out the side of the road. I would stop at the garbage piles and eat whatever was discarded most of the food was still good.

Even though I was walking in a desert, I was surviving fine. I was hungry but not starving. I was happy and free even though I lost my home, my possessions and had to survive on garbage. I thanked God for providing me the endurance to walk and for providing enough for me to eat. I was excited to see the end of the world. I’ve been looking forward to this day for eons.

I awoke.
